DIY Anthropologie Inspired Shirt

6. DIY Anthropologie Inspired Shirt. Last but not least, my hands-down most popular DIY tutorial ever. Pick up a cheap (clean!) button-down from your local thrift store and a lace curtain while you're at it. Book Review: Makery, Sewing

  makery: sewing book review

Welcome to a mini book review! Today I'm reviewing Makery: Sewing by Kate Smith. Can we just talk about this lovely book for a sec. It is so good! From the beautifully laid out cover to the very last page, I fell in love with this book from the moment I picked it up. There are so many gorgeous ideas inside, I could hardly choose! But choose I did - I recommend the fabric pendants, myself. What a great idea! And I always wondered how to make fabric pendants like this - the technique is both extremely simple and also something I never would have thought of.

Aren't they cool? You can use any fabric you have, or even bits of cross stitch fabric, or I bet even burlap (embroidered burlap!?) would be cute! (Did I just inspire myself for a future DIY? Yes, I did.) If jewelry isn't your thing, there are also several other amazing patterns for a tool apron, a colorful book cover, a doily cushion, guest towels, and even a handmade tie for your guy.

Definitely highly recommend this book! The instructions are easy to follow, the photographs are beautifully done, and there are even pull-out patterns in the back. Find it at your local library, or buy it here!
