This gorgeous mini table runner is made from crocheted join-as-you-go squares (my personal favorite way to make blankets/runners/etc.). I used a gorgeous combination of gray, lavender, and sage cotton yarn - you only need a skein of each to make this mini runner.
I never snagged a full photo of it, but I plan to share one soon. I made mine 5x2 with tassels fringing the short ends for extra length and oomph. The colors remind me of the Highland heather (not that I've ever seen it personally, but I like to think this is what it looks like) or gardens full of lavender. Summer can't come soon enough for me!
To make this runner, you'll need a US J/6 (6mm) crochet hook and 3 skeins of Lily Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn. This would look equally beautiful in a solid color (slate blue or cream?) or in bright rainbow shades! I'm a sucker for join-as-you-go methods, and that's actually how this pattern was born. Originally meant to be a blanket and crocheted out of Caron Simply Soft (which I don't recommend - it gets gross pretty quickly), I found it translated beautifully to cotton. I am in such a springtime mood! I think it's time to start an indoor herb garden. ;)
