These are a few of my favorite fall DIYs this year. All of them are simple enough to follow from the photo, but I've included links where I can! Unfortunately Pinterest doesn't always link back to the original source, but I've tried to give credit where it's due. Enjoy!
Coffee Bag Tote - This is a shameless promotion for my own DIY - I made this particular bag as a gift for a coworker, but I have a similar hand-stitched tote that I made in Arkansas a few years ago. It carries books, lunch, and projects without any effort, and the twine handles finish off the rustic look beautifully.
DIY Pinwheel Table Runner - Did you ever make those accordion-folded paper fans as a kid? I made dozens of them. This is much the same technique - but for a modern and colorful table runner. Love it! Make it in warm, rusty colors for Thanksgiving, and then create another one in red, green, and gold for Christmas!
Notebook Paper Bags - There is no DIY for these, just a link to delicious snickerdoodles from Martha Stewart. But I've included that too. ;) These bags look easy to make - cut out a rectangle, fold over one edge 1/2", and fold entire rectangle in half and staple. Roll up the ends and staple in place. Use pinking shears to create that cute scalloped edging, and voila!
Painted Sticks - Overly simple? I disagree. Use any color combination, pattern, and style to create some truly unique painted sticks! These could go in a canister or jar for colorful and rustic decor, or they can be hung from the wall or ceiling with string for original artwork. No link to these either, but I think you get the general idea. ;) Image found on ceilingexplorer.tumblr.com.
Corn Kernel Pattern - Now THIS is a cool idea! What a great option for Thanksgiving or any fall decor! Shove a few corn cob skewers into the ends of a short corn cob, roll in some richly colored paint, and stamp away! This technique could be used on tea towels, cloth napkins, temporary paper placemats, and more. No link, but again - pretty self-explanatory.
DIY Simple Home Slippers - Winter will soon be upon us, and already the days are growing chilly. What better way to fight off the brisk mornings and evenings than a simple pair of homemade felt slippers?
Fabric Bleach Art - Last but not least, something pretty. Dip the eraser end of a pencil in some bleach and dot out a design on fabric. Another beautiful idea for tea towels, table runners, and the like - lots of different designs can be created using simply bleach.
