Make your own DIY tissue paper by dressing up some plain white paper with a few gold dots! I recently went to a baby shower for a friend, and needed a quick packaging alternative - we never seem to have any wrapping paper in the house! I went out and bought a package of blue tissue paper and a package of white. They both needed a bit of an upgrade, so I painted the blue with white stars in acrylic paint and the white paper with gold dots. Here's a quick and sweet tutorial for the gold dotted paper!
You need plain white tissue paper, a small paintbrush, and some metallic gold paint - all available at your local craft store.
Iron your paper if desired, and spread out on a newspaper surface. Start painting! My dots were in no way uniform - I splotched them on anyhow and the results were beautifully chaotic.
And there you have it! An ultra-cute, ultra-easy way to upgrade some plain tissue paper. I can see this looking gorgeous with tiny stars or even tiny flowers painted onto the paper - try black tissue paper with metallic paint, or gold paper with black paint, or white with rainbow colors! The possibilities are vast.
