It's been a week since my official gallery opening at Apotheca Flower and Tea Shoppe, and I'm still reeling from the excitement of being asked to display my artwork in a gorgeous local shop! Just experiencing this opportunity was so amazing - I loved being able to talk about my pieces to the people who came, and share my love of creating. Several pieces were even sold just during that evening, which is such a cool thing. God has provided some beautiful opportunities for me to share my work, the things I made with my hands, and I am so thankful. Creativity is truly of the Lord - that ability I attribute entirely to Him. He gave me the desire and the ability to make things and I constantly remind myself of that. Pretty wonderful! So Friday night I brought my camera and was able to snap a few pictures of the display before the reception, and wanted to share them here. It was a bit later in the evening, so my photos aren't amazing, but they'll give you the gist of the gallery. Enjoy!
This last photo is one of my favorites from the Apotheca gallery - I set up a community loom for people to add to throughout the month! I'm so excited to see it finished and hanging for the town to see.
If you are interested in learning how to weave, I am teaching a workshop at Apotheca on Thursday, August 25 from 7-9PM! All materials included, and you get to keep everything to work on the weaving at home! I will be demonstrating how to wind a loom from an old frame, basic weaving techniques, and how to finish your weaving. Sign up today!
